Cookery & Music Workshops

A cookery and music workshop is a fun and exciting way to combine two creative and sensory experiences. You can learn new cooking techniques and recipes while also exploring the connection between food and music.

What happens during a workshop?

During the workshop, you engage in hands-on cooking activities, such as preparing a meal or baking a dessert. Meanwhile, music can be used to set the tone and create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. For example, you could listen to music while you cook, or even incorporate music into the cooking process by using rhythm and tempo to guide your movements.

In addition to cooking and music, the workshop may also include discussions about the connection between food and music, and how the two can be used to evoke emotions, memories, and cultural traditions. This can be a great way to encourage you to think about the sensory experiences of food and music in a new and meaningful way.

Cooking Class

We don't have a kitchen. Is this a problem?

Absolutely no problem at all. It is possible for us to bring everything with us. We will tailor the menu to the guests and the facilities.

We do the menu planning, write the recipes, do the shopping, we bring everything with us that is required to make the workshop a fantastic success!

Can you tell me more about what exactly happens?

Sure! On arrival you will receive a warm welcome, a drink and a small bite such as a piece of cake, cookies or even a piece sushi. It really does depend on the theme.

Once everyone has arrived, we will start with introducing who we are and how the workshop will progress.  Again depending on theme, we will normally begin with a small music exercise to bring the team together. Most people believe that they have no musical ability or rhythm and we wish to show you that that is just not true!!

Once the music exercise is over, we will split you into groups and you will begin to cook. We tend to do a lot of preparation so that the workshop does not take too long. We are aware that if the workshop is held at the end of a working day, people are tired and hungry.

The recipes are made to be inclusive so do not worry if your team has people who are vegetarian, or lactose intolerant or even Hallah. We will build the recipes around those needs

Once the food is ready to be served, we will all sit down together and eat. During the dinner, there will be more music activities.

This is just a loose idea of how the workshop will be. Every workshop we do has the same layout but we allow for the energy of the group to guide the activities.

The workshops last around 3-4 hours from start to finish.

What about Dietary restrictions?

In the context of recipes, it is important for us to be aware of any dietary restrictions that the participants may have, as these restrictions can impact the types of recipes and ingredients that are used in the workshops. Some common dietary restrictions we need to be aware of include:

1. Gluten-free: Celiac disease or non-celiac gluten sensitivity and need to avoid gluten, which is found in wheat, barley, and rye.

2. Dairy-free: Lactose intolerance or a milk allergy and need to avoid dairy products.

3. Vegetarian: Vegetarian diets and avoid meat but may still consume animal products such as Fish, eggs and dairy.

4. Vegan: Vegan diet and avoid all animal products, including meat, dairy, and eggs.

5. Kosher or Halal: Kosher or halal dietary laws and have specific restrictions on the types of food and preparation methods that are allowed.

5. Nuts/Seeds: We try our best to avoid peanuts in our recipes but do need to know if any of the participants have this kind of allergy.

It is important for us to be respectful and accommodating of any dietary restrictions that you may have. This may involve modifying recipes or meal plans to meet these needs, or working with you to develop alternative recipes or ingredients that are suitable for the dietary restrictions. By being mindful of these restrictions, we can ensure that everyone is able to fully participate in and benefit from the workshop.
